Lean and TWI Coaching

Lean or TPS (Toyota Production System) has its foundations in the TWI "J" programs. Kaizen, Standard Work and “Respect for People” all have direct connections to the basic 10-hour "J" program sessions. Leader Standard Work and the coaching formats can be linked to the “Follow-Through” program that was a support program to be used after completing the basic "J" program training.

We are the recognized leader in research on TWI programs and their connection and application to lean programs.

Our focus is making available training and reference material that can be applied today as well as making available reprints of the original TWI Service and TWI Foundation training manuals.

Other Services

Coaching in Problem Solving

Our experience stems from reviewing thousands of issues around the world in a wide range of facilities.

We offer the coaching of your staff in problem solving; your facility issues, not textbook case studies. These can be production problems, supplier related problems, returns from customers, etc…

We can document the problem solving process with A3 format, 8D, or 7-Step Corrective Action forms.

While we can draw from our problem solving toolbox of more than 100 tools, more than 90% can be solved with simple logical tools and impartial fact finding.

Facility Review

We offer initial reviews that take between 3-5 days, depending upon complexity of processes and size of facility.

We have completed reviews of facilities including engine plants, textile mills, woodworking plants, construction operations, service companies...just to name a few. Their size has ranged from 15 employees to more than 8,000 employees.

Our assessment format is derived from research done by MIT. There are 16 areas that are evaluated on a 0-5 scale. Each level has descriptive examples to aid in the evaluation process. These examples are clear enough to be used as milestones on the factory floor as improvements are made and what to expect as you improve towards world class operations.
